What we

Beacon of Hope is a non-governmental organization serving Witham and its surrounding areas, providing crucial assistance to the homeless and vulnerable individuals in Essex. We operate every day of the year, seven days a week."
Throughout the lockdowns, we have continued to operate as a non-governmental organization, recognized as an essential service for aiding rough sleepers in our streets. We offer assistance to a diverse range of clients facing various challenges while experiencing homelessness.
"We collaborate with some of the most vulnerable individuals, providing a safe environment where they can openly share their challenges with our staff. Our aim at Beacon of Hope is to transition individuals from homelessness to secure housing, as we believe that no one should be without a place to call home."
In the Beacon of Hope Outreach team, we provide for free:

A welcoming space where individuals without other options can seek support or simply engage in conversation with a staff member, leaving with an improved mood and a smile on their face, brings us immense joy as we've contributed to their well-being.

We provide hot meals, along with hot or cold beverages and desserts generously donated by local churches or community members.

We also provide essential equipment to homeless individuals who are sleeping rough, such as sleeping bags, clothing, and toiletry products. Many individuals experiencing homelessness have greatly benefited from these supplies, particularly during colder weather conditions.

We provide assistance with housing and benefits applications, as well as facilitating donations to help clients transition into accommodation. Additionally, we offer mental health and well-being support, where individuals can confide in us about their concerns. We also provide support for those struggling with drug addiction, helping them achieve long-term recovery.
